Sometimes the hardest part is simply coming through the door. If you are new to Stamford, visiting family, or returning to Mass after a long time away, please know this. You are welcome at St Mary and St Augustine’s. You do not need to have everything figured out, and you certainly do not need to feel “good enough” before you come. The Lord meets us where we are, not where we think we ought to be.
If you are unsure about times, the simplest place to begin is our Mass times page. If you would like to make a fresh start, or simply unburden your heart, you can find Confession information on our Confession page. If you need to speak to someone quietly, or you have a practical question, please use Contact and we will help you find the right person.
A small word for anyone who feels self-conscious. You do not need to know all the responses, when to sit, or when to stand. Just come and pray as best you can. If you would like a gentle way back into prayer at home, our Prayer page is there for you too. The Catholic life is not a performance. It is a friendship with Jesus, slowly learned.
Finally, if you would like to keep up with parish notices, the Newsletter is the easiest way to stay connected.
May God bless Stamford, and may St Mary and St Augustine’s be a true home for all who come seeking Him.
