This is a joyful week for our parish. On Sunday 28 June, the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, five of our children will make their First Holy Communion at the 9.00 am Mass in St Mary & St Augustine’s, Stamford.
After months of preparation, and with the patient help of their families and catechists, these children will come to the altar to receive the Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament for the first time. It is a day they will remember all their lives, and a great grace for the whole community that surrounds them.
Please keep these children, their families, and their catechists in your prayers this week. Pray, too, that having met the Lord in this Sacrament, they may continue to receive Him in Holy Communion throughout their whole lives, and that the seed planted now will grow into a deep and lasting friendship with Christ.
We give thanks to God for them, and we look forward with joy to Sunday.
