Who they are
Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) is a Catholic charity, and a pontifical foundation of the Church, dedicated to supporting persecuted and suffering Christians wherever they are oppressed, impoverished, or in danger. Founded in 1947 to help a Church in ruins after the Second World War, it now serves the faithful in more than a hundred countries.
What they do
Each year ACN funds thousands of projects in some of the hardest places on earth: rebuilding churches, training priests and religious sisters, printing Bibles and catechisms, supporting refugees, and standing beside Christian communities under threat. It also brings the stories of those who suffer for their faith to the wider Church, so that they are remembered, and not left to suffer unseen.
How our parish supports them
Our parish keeps the persecuted Church in its prayers and supports the work of Aid to the Church in Need, that our brothers and sisters who pay a heavy price for their faith may know they are not forgotten.
How you can help
Pray for Christians who suffer for the faith, give to support ACN’s projects, and look out for its appeals through the year.
