Who they are
Missio is the Catholic Church’s official charity for world mission, working in the name of the Holy Father through the Association for the Propagation of the Faith. For generations it has been known in homes across the country by a small but faithful sign: the Red Box on the windowsill or mantelpiece.
What they do
Missio supports the Church wherever it is young, poor, or newly planted: helping to train priests, sisters and catechists, caring for children, and sustaining parishes and missions in countries where the faith is taking root, often in the face of great hardship. Small gifts, gathered from many, become a lifeline for the Church’s mission to the ends of the earth.
How our parish supports them
Our parish joins the whole Church for World Mission Sunday each October, and parishioners support the missions throughout the year through Missio’s familiar Red Boxes.
How you can help
Take a Red Box for your home and let your small change become mission, give to the Mission Sunday collection, and pray for the spread of the Gospel.
